Viola Layher, age 95, of Broken Bow, Ne. died Friday January 7, 2011 at the Custer Care Assisted Living in Broken Bow.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 12, 2011 at 10;30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow with Rev. Kathy LaRocque officiating. Visitation will be Tues Jan. 11th from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery with Govier Brothers Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Custer Care Center.
Viola was born Dec. 21, 1915 in Wolbach, Ne. to Edwin and Sarah E. (Donaldson) Layher. She lived in Greeley and Valley Counties until 1929 when she moved to Broken Bow. She worked for many years for the Custer County Highway Department in Broken Bow as a bookkeeper.
Viola is survived by great neices and nephews, Mark (Lisa) Linville of Randolph, Ne., Teri (John) Hunt of Arcadia, Ne., Talli (Ryan) Kratochvil of Pleasant Dale, Ne., Larry (Riza) Neutzman Jr. of Gothenburg, Ne., Julie (Les) Mintzmyer of California, and Patti (Michael) Deal of Maryville, Washington. Many great great Neices and nephews. Viola was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, nephew Kenny, neice Darlene, and great neice Wendy Jo.
