Gretchen E. Boyles, age 79 of Mason City, Nebraska died Wednesday January 19th 2011 at the Jennie Melham Hospital in Broken Bow. Funeral services will be Monday January 24, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Mason City Baptist Church with Rev. John Lewis and Rev. Bill Ragan officiating. Burial will be in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at 3 p.m. Visitation will be Sunday January 23 at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the family present at Govier’s from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Mason City EMT’s or the Baptist Church in Mason City. Gretchen E. Boyles was born September 29, 1931 in Mason City, Ne. to Ray and Addie (Wright) Taylor. She attended school and graduated from Mason City H. S. in 1949. On June 24, 1951 Gretchen married Harry Ray Boyles in Mason City. Gretchen was a member of the Custer County American Legion Auxiliary, the Mason City Service Club, the Sunshine Club, Custer’s Last Stitch Quilt Guild, and Mason City American Legion Auxiliary, and the Mason City Baptist Church. Gretchen is survived by her husband Harry Ray Boyles of Mason City, Ne. 4 sons John Boyles of Cozad, Ne, Jim Boyles of Mason City, Ne., David Boyles of Mason City, Ne., and Joe (Karen) Boyles of Lewistown, Montana, 2 daughters Carol (Pat) Kuehl of Loup City, Ne., and Tammy Boyles of Aurora, Minnesota, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a brother John Taylor of Idaho Falls, Id. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Arnold and sister in law Dorothy.
