Bennie Rex Ostrand

Mason City, NE- Bennie Rex Ostrand age 80 of Mason City died Saturday January 22, 2011 at his home. Memorial funeral services will be held Wednesday January 26, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the First Baptist Church in Kearney, NE with Revs. David Harder and Stan Murdock officiating. A private burial service will be the Basin Cemetery south of Mason City. Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 25, 2011, 8 AM to 8 PM, with the family greeting friends 6 PM to 7 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow. Memorials will be decided by the family at a later date. Bennie Rex Ostrand was born November 7, 1930 at Mason City, Nebraska to Benjamin Richard and Florence Janette (Peck) Ostrand. He was married to Carolyn Jensen on June 18, 1955 at the Basin Lutheran Church south of Mason City. Survivors include his wife Carolyn of Mason City, son Neil and wife Julie Ostrand of Mason City, daughter Karen and husband Dan Saathoff of Miller, daughter Kathy Ostrand of Mason City, daughter Ann and husband Marlin Slingsby of Kearney, daughter Karla and husband Randy Bauer of Pleasanton, and son Carl and wife Tonya Ostrand of Central City, and fifteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
