Clarissa Joyce (Tvrs) Tucker was born July 18, 1925 in Lincoln, NE and later adopted by Joseph Paul and Edith May (Nelms) Tvrs.
Joyce was raised in the Westerville area attended Lamphear grade school and graduated from Westerville High School in 1943. She attended Kearney State College then taught in several rural schools for fifteen years. In 1967 she began teaching third grade at Anselmo – Merna School for twenty years retiring in 1987.
June 11, 1950 Clarissa Joyce Tvrs and Marion Seth Tucker were united in marriage and live on the Charles Arnold farm north of Westerville. To this union two sons, David Leroy and Delmar Gene were born.
In 1970, due to Marion’s health, they sold their farm moved to Merna, and in 1988 moved into her fathers home in Broken Bow.
Joyce was a member of the First Christian Church, CWF, taught Bible school and Sunday school classes. She joined the Sunset Rebekah Lodge in 1977, transferred to the Broken Bow Rebekah Lodge November 15, 1991. She was president of the Broken Bow Area Retired Teachers for several years.
Joyce especially enjoyed being with family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her home was always open to friends for a visit over a cup of coffee.
Joyce will be missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joe and May Tvrs and husband Marion in 2005.
Survivors include sons David and Delmar, grandchildren Hayley and husband Evan Quidachay-Swan, Preston and wife Alicia Tucker, Derrick and wife Megan Tucker, Amy and husband Jon Spangler, Tiffany and Breanna Tucker, great granddaughters Tahnna Nokes, Miranda Tucker and Chloe Spangler, sister-in-law Maxine Fouch, several neices, nephews and a host of friends, especially Paul and Donna Mills.
