Willda Diefenbaugh age 87 of Broken Bow formerly of Merna, Nebraska died Monday February 7, 2011 at the Custer Care Assisted Living Center in Broken Bow, Ne. Funeral services will be Friday February 11, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the Evangelical Free Church in Broken Bow with Minister Jerry Ricketts officiating. Burial will be in the Merna Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday Feb. 10 at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, Ne. from 8 AM to 8 PM with the family greeting friends 6 PM to 8 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow. Memorials have been suggested to the Panama Medical Mission or the Custer Care Center. Willda Idell Diefenbaugh was born on September 2, 1923 in Brown County to Evan and Minnie (Blumenthal) Crone. She was married to Junior Diefenbaugh on June 28, 1944 in Broken Bow. Survivors include her children Mike (Judy) Diefenbaugh of Merna, Joan (Jim) Foster of Merna, Yvonne Tucker of Merna, Deb (Steve) Miller of Callaway, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sister Evelyn McElgunn of Apple Valley, CA, brother Floyd (Shirley) Crone of Ainsworth, sister Beryle Banker of Britt, IA, brother Eldan (Loretta) Crone of Ft. Morgan, CO, and brother Laurel (Kay) Crone of Grand Junction, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband Junior, parents, great grandson Brett Foster, sister Claire Andersen, sister Ruth Henderson, brother Orvan Crone, sister Nola Wilson, brother Tad Crone, and sister Wilma Hawthorne.
