Tom Newman

Ansley, NE- Tom L. Newman age 78 of Ansley died peacefully at his home in Ansley on February 26, 2011. Funeral services will be held Thursday March 3, at 2:00 PM in the First Christian Church in Ansley with Reverend Mel Shepherd officiating. Burial be in the Mason City Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be held Wednesday 8 Am to 8 Pm at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow. The family will greet friends at visitation on Thursday Moring 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the First Christian Church in Ansley. Memorials have been suggested to the Ansley School Athletic Fund. Tommie L. Newman was born on August 30, 1932 at home in Cumro, Nebraska to Tom C. and Opal E. (Sigler) Newman. Tom served in the US Army. He was married to Marilyn Kirkpatrick. Tom worked for 42 years as a Conductor on the BNSF Railroad. Tom is survived by his son Tom Newman and daughter Tanya Evans both of Sheridan, WY, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Bonnie Roland of Lexington and Darlene Price of Ansley, brothers Richard Newman of Lincoln, Kenneth Newman of Sutherland, and Larry Newman of Lincoln, an Aunt Katherine Newman of Ansley. Tom was the God Father to Jennifer Creps Mack and her children Kelsey and Emily of Ansley who were very special to Tom. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Marie.
