Broken Bow, NE- Garnet R. Wright age 84 of Broken Bow died Friday March 18, 2011 at the Jennie Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow. Funeral services will be held Monday March 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow with Reverend Larry DeMoss officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be held Sunday March 20, 1 PM to 6 PM with the family greeting friends 1 PM to 2 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary. Memorials have been suggested to the Broken Bow American Legion Baseball Program or the Custer County Fairgrounds. Garnet was born on October 10, 1926 to Garnet E. and Atha Mae (Guthrie) Wright at Mason City. Garnet graduated from Mason City High School in 1944. He served in the US Navy 1944 to1946. He was married to Maxine Olson on September 7, 1947 at Broken Bow. Garnet is survived by his wife Maxine of Broken Bow, two daughters Deb (Joe) Grantzinger of Merna, Laurel (Kris) Fitzgerald of Austin, TX,2 sons Randy (Kim) Wright of Washington, Illinois, Steve (Eugenia) Wright of Olathe, KS, nine grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, one brother Johnny (Loris) Wright of Broken Bow, sister Joyce (Mike) Holm of Pocatello, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents.
