Lane, Mary M. age 88, of Lincoln, Ne. formerly of the Callaway Broken Bow area. Died Tuesday March 22, 2011 at Gramercy Hill in Lincoln, Ne.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 25, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Berean Fundamental Church in Broken Bow with Pastor Larry DeMoss and Pastor Steve Selfridge officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway, Ne.
Visitation will be Thursday March 24, 2011 at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, Ne. noon to 8 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. that evening. Memorials may be made to the Berean Church, Homeward Trails, or the Grace Community Evangelical in Lincoln, Ne.
Mary Mildred Lane was born November 12, 1922, near Callaway, Nebraska to Bryan R. and Anna (Pitkin) Price. She grew up in the Brown Valley community, attending the Brown Valley School, and was a graduate of Callaway High School in 1941. she taught school for 2 years. On November 26, 1943 she married Robert H. Lane at her parent’s farm five miles south of Callaway, Nebraska. They lived on a farm in Turner Valley until 1991 and then moved to Broken Bow, Her husband died in July of 2002. Mrs. Lane moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, to Gramercy Hill in 2007 to be near her daughter.
Mary spent her years caring for people and will be remembered and loved for her gentle quiet spirit.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Helen and Ron Nelson, Lincoln, Ne. grandchildren Wes Nelson and Chris of Wolsey, S.D., Manel Selfridge and Steve of Rapid City, S.D, Lane Nelson of Wahoo, Ne., and Gisele Nelson of Atlanta, Ga. Great grandchildren Raquel, Ethan, Faith, Sawyer, and Maria Nelson of Wolsey, S.D., Bennett, Millie, Hudson, and Nia Selfridge of Rapid City, S.D., one sister Anna Belle Zoerb of Callaway, Ne., She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, one sister, and one brother.
