Broken Bow, NE- J.D. Gibson age 89 of Broken Bow died Saturday July 9th at his home in Broken Bow. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 13, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow with Reverend Lila Picton and Rev. Corey Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery at 10:00 AM on July 13, 2011 with Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 12, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary. Memorials have been established to the Broken Bow United Methodist Church. James David Gibson was born on November 11, 1921 to Asa Raphael and Grace Alphretta (Barnhart) Gibson. He was married to Shirley Hogue on June 1, 1940 at the EUB parsonage in Broken Bow. Their only child, Deanna Wynnette was born on November 28, 1943. JD is survived by his sister in law Hazel Pearson of Lincoln, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Deanna, his wife Shirley, sisters Blanche, Lera, Ethel, Elizabeth and Katherine, and his brother Eldred “Bud”.
