Mason City, NE- Arleigh L. Sintek, age 86, of Mason City, died Monday August 1, 2011 at his home.
Memorial services will be held on Friday August 5, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Ansley with Reverend Michael Lang officiating. A register book may be signed through Friday Morning at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow. Memorials may be given to the Mason City Fire and Rescue or the Ansley Fire and Rescue. Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements.
Arleigh Sintek was born on July 11, 1925 at Elba, Nebraska to Wilma Shinn. Arleigh graduated from Elba High School and later graduated from Kearney State College. He served in the United States Navy 1944 to1946. He was married to Judith “Penny” Penelope Porter in 1951. Mr. and Mrs. Sintek moved to Ansley where he taught school. Arleigh later went to work for Security State Bank in Ansley. In 1988, the couple moved to the farm east of Ansley. They enjoyed raising cattle and gardening. Mrs. Sintek died in 2009.
Arleigh is survived by his sons David Sintek of Ansley, and Jim Sintek of Kearney, NE, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren, two sisters Maxine Clayton of Douglas, Wyoming, and Elaine Wolf of Omaha, and one brother Wayne Sintek of Norfolk.
He was preceded in death by his mother Wilma, and his wife Judith.
