Ray Brown

E. Ray Brown age 89 of Broken Bow, NE died Saturday August 20, 2011 in Milford, NE. Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 25, 2011 at 10:30 AM in Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow with Reverend Mary Jane Gockley officiating. Burial will be in the Janesville Cemetery at Berwyn, NE with Military Honors. Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 24, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary. Memorials have been established to the Mid Nebraska Individual Services or the Broken Bow Fire and Rescue Units. Ray was born on December 18, 1921 at Merna, NE to Ernest Cloe and Jennie (Sickler) Brown. Ray served in the United States Navy 1944 to 1946. He was married to Dorothy Ann Dinwiddie on November 6, 1938 at North Platte. Ray and his long time business partner, Don Denesia, were pioneers in the building of nursing homes and assisted living facilities and built throughout the United States. Ray is survived by his daughters Sabra Hughes of Milford and Nedra (Don) Wilcox of Omaha, and son Doran (Julie) Brown of Hickman, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy, and his granddaughter Callie.
