Leonard Nehls

Leonard H. Nehls age 74 of Arcadia died August 22, 2011 at the Jennie Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow. Memorial services will be held on Monday September 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Arcadia Community Center in Arcadia. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Loup City. Memorials have been established to the Arcadia Fire and Rescue Units. Leonard H. Nehls was born on March 23, 1937 at San Bernardino, CA to Henry and Mamie Pearl (Warford) Nehls. Leonard attended school in Kearney, NE. On May 28, 1960 he was married to Loraine Schade in Kearney. Leonard and Loraine owned and operated a custodial and cleaning service in the Arcadia and Ord areas from 1981 until 2008. Leonard enjoyed helping others, his grandchildren, hunting, traveling and was a very generous man. Leonard is survived by his wife Loraine of Arcadia, daughters Alnetta (Dale) Hejtmanek of Clarks, NE, and Maria Nehls of Strausberg, CO, sons Percy (Mary) Nehls of Rogers, AR, and Loran (Amy) Nehls of Madison, NE, six grandchildren, brothers Fred (Maria) Nehls of Lincoln and Leland (Virginia) Nehls of Grand Island, NE, sister Maxine Johnson of Lexington, NE, sister-in-law Holly Holley of Texas, sister-in-law Ila Nehls of Kearney, NE, and brother-in-law John Klosterman of ______. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Lyle Nehls, sister Myrtle Klosterman and half brother Jess Holley.
