Edward Schulte

Schulte, Edward J. age 80, of Ansley, Ne. died Sat. October 8, 2011 at Husker Homes in Ansley. Funeral services will be Wednesday October 12th at 11 a.m. at the Christian Church in Ansley, Ne. with Rev. Mel Shepherd and Rev. Bill Ragan officiating. Burial will be in the Ansley Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation will be Tuesday Oct 11th at Govier Brothers Mortuary from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at the Christian Church in Ansley from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family. Ed Schulte was born April 15, 1931 in Kearney, Ne. to Lloyd Henry and Rose Phylura (Brisbin) Schulte. He attended school at the Zion Lutheran in Kearney, until he joined the National Guard at age 16. He later received an honorary diploma from Kearney High School. Edward served in the United States Army from June 13,1949 to August 16th, 1952, in Korea, in the Army Corps of Engineers. On July 30th 1954, Edward was married to Esther “Bernice” Holland in Ansley, NE. They resided in Grand Island, Alda, and Hastings, where he worked at the ordinance plant and alfalfa mills. He was a welder and a diesel mechanic. Later they moved to Ansley to be closer to Bernice’s family, he then worked at Sargent Pipe Company in Broken Bow. He retired from Sargent Pipe in 1987 due to emphysema. Two children were born to this union, Rose Anna Daniels of Kingman, AZ and Edward J. Schulte II of Ansley. He was preceded in death by his wife Bernice in 1980, his parents Lloyd and Rose Schulte, three brothers Richard, George and David, one sister Charlotte, brothers-in-laws Gerald, Calvin, Arthur and Don Holland. uncle and brother-in-law hank Brisbin, brother-in-laws Roger Young, Larry Westwood, Robert Bellman and Kenneth Eddy. Edward is survived by his daughter Rose Anna and husband Steve Daniels of Kingman, AZ, grandchildren Abraham Wilder of Billings, MT, Aaron Wilder and boys, Aaron Jr, Andrew, and AJ of Scottsbluff, NE. Lorelie Hanneman of Las Vegas, NV, Adam Hanneman and Eli Daniels of Kingman, AZ. Son Edward and wife Kim Schulte of Ansley, grandsons Josh Thompson and friend Kinley Queen of Lincoln, Louis Keezer of Broken Bow, Joel Schulte and friend Joan McCleary of Hastings, granddaughter Brittney Schulte and friend Megan Cassidy of Kenesaw. Four sisters Priscilla Young and Sharon Bellman of Seattle, WA, Cheryl Westwood of California, and Karen Eddy of Norfolk. He loved meeting and visiting the many people who came through Custer’s Last Stop in Ansley, (where he was a fixture.), especially giving the little ones a quarter for the musical gum ball machine, and watch them dance to the music.
