Stanley Sommer

Stanley Sommer age 92 of Merna, NE died October 31, 2011 at Jennie Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow. Funeral services will be held Friday November 4, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Evangelical Free Church in Broken Bow with Rev. Scott Harvey officiating. Burial will be in the Merna Cemetery with Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will on Thursday 8 AM to 8 PM with the family greeting friends 7 PM to 8 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary. Stanley A. Sommer was born on September 24, 1919 in Custer County to Almore and Esther (Collinson) Sommer. He was married to Sylvia Pomplun on September 8, 1942. Mrs. Pomplun died on June 28, 1986. Stanley is survived by his son Stephen (Ann) Sommer of Merna, NE, and daughter Sandra (James) McCord of Richmond, KY, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother Keith Sommer of Merna, and a sister Geraldine Wilkins of Murdoch, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sylvia, brother Warren and sister Allie Beat.
