Guyneth Ellen Orvis Guyneth Orvis age 97 of Broken Bow died November 15, 2011 at the Jennie Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow. Funeral services will be held Friday November 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with Rev. Mary Jane Gockley officiating. Interment will be in the West Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Guyneth Ellen Orvis was born July 19, 1914 in the Thedford - Dunning area to Samuel and Mary (Wooters) Scott. Guyneth grew up in the Sargent area. She was united in marriage to Lysle Orvis and to this union four children were born. Guyneth worked in the home caring for their children. In 1957 they bought the Sargent Hotel which they ran for many years before retiring and moving to Broken Bow. Guyneth was an accomplished painter and quilter having made quilts for each of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting and reading and was very active until the last few years. She loved spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her three daughters Shirley Wolsleben of Grand Island, Karen (Larry) Millikin of Colorado Springs, CO. and Pamela (William) Morse of Seward. One son Rick (Millie) Orvis of Lincoln, one brother Sam Scott of Broken Bow, fourteen grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren.
