Toni Marie Turner, age 50, of Broken Bow, Ne. passed away November 30, 2011 at the Jennie Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Memorial funeral services will be held Thursday Dec. 15th 2011 at 2 p.m. in Govier Brothers Mortuary at Broken Bow with Rev. Todd Karges officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. A memorial guess book may be signed at Govier Brothers Mortuary Wed. Dec 14th from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Toni was born May 15, 1961 in Grand Island, Ne. She attended Broken Bow Elementary and Broken Bow High School. After graduating, Toni worked in Lincoln, Ne. and attended the University of Nebraska for two years until multiple sclerosis progressed too much for her to continue.
Toni loved being a part of the Broken Bow Community Playhouse. She took part in several productions. Toni used her artistic ability to help with set design. A favorite was Annie.
Toni has resided at Golden Living Center in Broken Bow for the past twenty years. She enjoyed communicating with friends via e-mail when her health allowed her to use her computer. She also was a fan of Jeopardy, Tuesday, game day at Golden Living was her favorite activity.
Toni was preceded in death by her father, Billy Joe Turner of New Hampshire and grandparents Turner, Mills, and Nielsen.
Toni is survived by her parents, Ken and Olive Nielsen of Broken Bow, one sister, Terri (James) Oehm of Gretna, Ne, three brothers Joseph Turner of Des Moines, IA. Scott (Mary Ann) Nielsen of Grand Island, Ne., and Rick Nielsen of Sheldon, IA. Also nephews, Breckan and Nathan Nielsen of Grand Island, Ne.
