Howard "Sonny" Turner

Howard “Sonny” Turner age 81 of Arnold died Thursday November 24, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Care Home in Callaway. Graveside services will be held on Monday November 28, 2011 at 1:30 PM at the Custer Center Cemetery west of Broken Bow with the Rev. Don Schauda officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday morning 8 AM to 12:00 Noon at Govier Bros. Mortuary with the family greeting friends 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Howard C. “Sonny” Turner was born on June 30, 1930 at Milburn, NE to Howard L. and Mary J. (Gilligan) Turner. He attended school at Milburn and Anselmo. On October 19, 1951 he was married to Lois Wilson at Broken Bow. The couple lived at Milburn for many years. In 1979 they moved to Arnold, NE. As a young man Sonny broke many horses. He enjoyed hunting, antiques, and visiting with people. Sonny is survived by his wife Lois of North Platte, son Jack Turner of Arnold, daughter-in-law Lori Turner of North Platte, four grandchildren; Brad (Kari) Turner, Patti Turner, Dan (Jamie) Turner, and Amy (Josh) Allen, and seven great grandchildren; Shyenne, Zane and Hailey Turner, Emma and Eli Turner, and Tyrus and Kaden Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Donna Johnston.
