E. Ruth Fisher
Edna Ruth Fisher age 95 of Comstock died at the Plum Creek Well Life in Lexington. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 7, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow with Rev. Todd Karges and Rev. Scott Harvey officiating. Interment will be in the Douglas Grove Cemetery at Comstock, Ne. Visitation will be held Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the Comstock Fire dept. or the Lexington United Methodist Church.
Ruth was born January 19, 1916 at Broken Bow to Harold and Ravenna (Myers) McCaslin. Ruth attended school at Rose Valley, then at Broken Bow High School graduating in 1933. She then attended Kearney State College. She married John Fisher on February 25, 1939. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, held many church offices, and loved Nebraska sporting events.
Ruth is survived by three sons: Larry (Donna) Fisher of Broken Bow, John (Jan) Fisher of Marquette, Ne., and Ed (Becky) Fisher of Enders, Ne. Four daughters: Donna (Kenneth) Olson of Lexington, Janell Burt of Lincoln, Ne.. Cheryl (Dan) Clevenger of Gibbon, Ne., and Sheila Cherry of Garland, Tx. 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. 1 sister in law Leona McCaslin of Broken Bow.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers Leland, and Charles, and 1 sister Esther Scott.
