Lois Turner age 80 of North Platte died at her home on January 9, 2012. Graveside services will be held Friday January 13, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at the Custer Center Cemetery with Rev. Don Schauda officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday morning with the family greeting friends 10:0 AM to 12:00 Noon.
Lois Evelyn Turner was born on February 23, 1931 at Broken Bow, NE to Roy Frank Wilson and Anna Mae (Dainton) Wilson. She graduated from Anselmo High School. Lois later attended Kearney State Teachers College. On October 19, 1951 Lois was married to Howard “Sonny” Turner at Broken Bow. They made their home in Milburn, NE. Mrs. Turner worked as the Postmaster in Anselmo. In 1979, Lois and Howard moved to Arnold, Nebraska were Lois worked as the Arnold Postmaster. Lois also worked at the Becton Dickinson Plant in Broken Bow for ten years. Lois retired from working in 1986. Lois and Howard retired to North Platte, NE about three years ago.
Lois enjoyed doing leather work. Many people were fortunate to receive a wallet, checkbook, belt, or other items that she made. Lois loved being outdoors and riding horses.
Survivors include one son Jack Turner of Arnold, daughter in law Lori Turner of North Platte, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
