James Franssen

James R. Franssen, age 71 of Broken Bow, Nebraska died Sunday January 29, 2012 at Bryan LGH in Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral services will be Thursday Feb. 2, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Broken Bow with Father Jim Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Rosary will be Wed. Feb 1 at 7:00 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary with the Knights of Columbus officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary and Thursday 8 a.m. to service time at St. Josephs Catholic Church. A memorial will be designated by the family at a later date. Jim Franssen is survived by his wife Sharon Franssen of Broken Bow, 2 daughters Suzanne (Eric) Parker of Lyons, Co., and Jennifer (Jeff) Puetz of Denver, Co., a grand daughter Macie Parker. 1 brother Larry (Cheryl) Franssen of Callaway, Ne., 2 sisters Ruth Overgard of Callaway, and Virginia (Jerry) Moheng of St. Paul, Ne., A neice Kristie Vital that they help raise and several nephews and neices. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Wayne and a brother Dale and his wife Cheryl. James R. Franssen was born March 18th 1940 in Andale, Kansas to Herman and Marcella (Goetz) Franssen. He moved to Callaway and graduated from Callaway H.S. class of 1958. Jim and Sharon Franssen were married July 5, 1965 in Broken Bow, Ne. where they have made their home.
