Terry Ray Golden, age 64, of Broken Bow passed away on Saturday, March 10th, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Broken Bow, NE after losing his battle with cancer. He was born October 1, 1947 in Broken Bow, NE. After graduating from Broken Bow High School in 1966 he joined the Army. He proudly served his country for three years. On March 20th, 1971 he married Martha Shepperd and together they made their home near Broken Bow where they raised their three children. They were 10 days away from their 42nd anniversary.
Terry was a farmer until he went to work at Sargent Irrigation in 1975 where he worked as a welder specializing in hydraulics until he transferred to Sargent Pipe. Then in 1998 he took a new job at Adams Land and Cattle. He worked there until January 2012 when he was no longer able to work. He was a jack of all trades and worked hard all his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Violet Golden of Broken Bow.
He was survived by his loving wife Martha Golden and his son Terry Lee Golden and wife Windy, daughter in law Jo Watkins, daughter Pearl Maring and husband Dewey and daughter Jennifer White, and son in law Douglas White and his grandchildren David White, Ethan Maring, Matthew Golden, Bailee Maring, Jordan White, Morgan Golden, Mikayla Golden, Mackenzie Golden, Trinity Golden, Rebecca Maring, and Andrew Golden.
Terry was also survived by his brother John Golden of Grand Island, NE, sister Marcel Mayo of Omaha, NE, sister Betty McMillian of Broken Bow, NE and sister Charlene Nova of Merna, NE, sister in laws Margaret Shepperd and Barbara Shepperd, brother in law, Darrell Shepperd and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow with Minister Kathy Salts officiating. Burial will be in the Douglas Grove Cemetery at Comstock, NE with Military Honors. Visitation will be held on Wednesday 8 AM to 8 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the Veterans Memorial Building in Broken Bow.
