Woodrow Miller, age 98 of Kearney, Nebraska, formerly of the Mason City and Callaway communities, died Wed. October 10th, 2012 at Mother Hull Senior Living facility in Kearney.
Funeral services will be held Saturday October 13th at 2 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with Pastor Mel Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Callaway Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday October 12th at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday till service time. Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow is in charge of arrangements.
Woodrow Miller was born Nov. 17, 1913 in Callaway, Ne. to Hope Ephriam and Eliza (Lichtenberger) Miller. He attended rural school near Callaway. On November 19, 1939 Woodrow married Margie Samson. They lived and farmed in the Callaway community. In January of 1957 they moved to Mason City, Ne. raising cattle and repairing and servicing wells. They retired in 1976. Margie died in 1995.
Woodrow is survived by 2 sons Don (Jan) Miller of Loup City, Ne., Dale (Karen) Miller of Fordland, Mo., 3 daughters Jane Herndon of Gothenburg, Ne., Judy Smith of Gothenburg, Ne., and Susan (Ron) Beck of Mason City, Ne. 11 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. 4 brothers Bryce Miller of Oregon, Ray Miller of Oregon, Morris Miller, of California, and Norman Miller of Mason City, Nebraska. Special friend Wilma Jones of Kearney, Ne. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margie, 2 sons Michael and Lee, grandson David, 7 brothers and sisters, and 2 son-in-laws
