Ross William Roberts, son and youngest of 5 children of Henry and Zula (Weston) Roberts was born January 16, 1934 at their home near Oconto.
Ross graduated from Oconto High School in 1951. Ross served in the United States Army where he spent 16 months in Korea. Ross was united in marriage to Joyce Elaine Middleton on September 11, 1960 at First Methodist Church in Arnold. No children were born to this union but thought of nephews and nieces as theirs.
The couple lived 38 and a half years in Lower Lodi Community in Custer County. On February 14, 1999 they moved into a home on the outskirts of Oconto. Ross resided here until he entered the Good Samaritan Hospital on October 30, and passed away on November 2, 2012 from Cancer.
Ross enjoyed cowboying as he loved his horse, animals and peacefulness of riding pastures and rodeos.
September 2011 Ross and Joyce were presented an Airplane trip to Arizona by a nephew Vince and family to visit his brother Les who he hadn’t seen for 32 years. Ross enjoyed visiting friends and relatives and never met a stranger.
Ross is survived by his wife Joyce of Oconto, brother Les (Joanee) Roberts of Prescott, AZ, 2 sister-in-laws Millie Roberts of Little Rock, AR, and Maxine Wonch of Ansley, 2 brother-in-laws Charles Clouse of Arnold and Duane (Jan) Middleton of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Virginia Klabunde, 2 brothers Lloyd and Allen Roberts, 2 sister-in-laws Delores Clouse and Neva Roberts, 2 brother-in-laws Charles Klabunde and Donivan Wonch.
