Mildred M. Scheibe was born Dec. 11, l911 in Sweetwater, Ne. to John and Fannie (Jelinek) Fries. Mildred went to school in Boelus. She moved to Mason City on a farm. She helped a lady with thrashing wheat, shock grain and baking pies and selling them. Mildred also worked at the Cream Station in Mason City ordering Omaha Cold Storage. She married Alfred Scheibe in 1934. They lived in Dunning, Ne. and had 4 children LaVerne, Don, Donna, and LaVonne. She worked with Gussy Bowen at the Haught Café. She also worked at the Wirz store, butcher shop, hotel, and did lots of housekeeping. After the death of her husband Alfred and son LaVerne, Mildred and son Don moved to Broken Bow.
Mildred enjoyed cooking and cleaning house even when in a wheel chair She liked playing skipbo and sorry card games, and sitting on the porch to play with the cats. She loved spending time playing with her great grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by a son Don Scheibe of Broken Bow, daughter Donna Reynolds of Mullen, Ne. a sister Norma Hochreiter of Ravenna, Ne. and brother Roy Fries of Arizona. 2 grandchildren Jody Reynolds of Mullen and Fannie Poff (Roy) of Broken Bow. Three great grandchildren Shawna, David, and Candice. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 sisters Elma, Eunice, Rosie, Henretta, and Margaret. 2 brothers George and Joe, Son LaVerne, daughter LaVonne, and grandson Kelly.
