Rex Allen Baillie

On July 2, 1962, Rex Allen Baillie bounded into the arms of Lana and Lowell Baillie. He was greeted by his older brother Ron, who became his protector. And his younger brother Rod, who likely stood back and wondered what kind of brothers he had. Rex grew up with an extended family that knew the value of children. This family value was carried through to Rex’s own family. He loved his children and was devoted to them in every sense of the word. Chelle was adored and loved to ride with her dad wherever he went. Chelle blessed him with a charming granddaughter, Evelyn. Zachary came along and would learn the love of hunting and fishing from his dad. Becca is a champion cheerleader and loves to perform. These children are truly gifts from God. Rex found his soul mate and lifetime companion in Beth Nelsen Caha. She, too, was a gift from God in giving Rex exactly what he needed. Of course his dog, Harley, was there, too. Rex graduated from Broken Bow High School and from Southeast Community College with certification as a top mechanic. Those who knew Rex have no problem telling stores about his love of cars, motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and guns. Rex could get more out of a car engine than anyone and it was evidenced in the business he owned and operated for years. His battle with arthritis never kept him from doing the things he loved or being with the people he loved. His mom and dad, Lana and Lowell, were always there for him—loving him through it—as were his brothers and sisters-in-law--Ron and Cindy and Rod and Stacey. He inspired and entertained his nephews, Heath and Hunter as well as his nieces, Jessie and Jenna. Of course, there were aunts & uncles--Wid & Swede, Bob & Joann, Ted & Judy—as well as cousins—who were important to him as well. Rex was God-fearing and a person who lived in a house by the side of the road, and never met a stranger. Can you imagine the celebrations when his grandparents, cousins and many friends greeted him at Heaven’s Gate? We can.
