Sharon Hershman Sharon Hershman, 73, of Parkston, SD and Broken Bow, NE passed away on February 16, 2013 at Jennie Melham Memorial Hospital in Broken Bow. Sharon was born on January 26, 1940 in Parkston, SD to John and Frances Fergen. She was a graduate of Klamath Falls High School in Oregon. She was married to the late Paul D. Hershman in Mitchell, SD and lived in Mitchell, SD; Norfolk, NE; and Parkston, SD before her last move to Broken Bow, NE in August of 2012. Sharon and Paul resided in Mitchell, SD from 1962 to 1976. Following Paul’s transfer with Kraft Foods, they moved to Norfolk, NE where they resided until Paul’s death in 1988. They were both active in bowling and golf leagues and Sharon educated herself in cake decorating, winning several local and regional awards. She sold Home Interiors for many years, sharing her love for home décor and forging lasting friendships throughout Northeast Nebraska and Southeast South Dakota. In later years, she resided briefly in Sioux Falls before returning to Parkston, SD and ultimately Broken Bow, NE until her passing. Sharon is survived by her daughter, Kelly Sanger (Jeff) of Broken Bow, NE; her son, Commander Brett C. Hershman (Britta), USN of Virginia Beach, VA; her brother Gene Fergen of Sioux Falls, SD her sisters Kathy Behrend and Lori Haase of Parkston, SD, three grandchildren, two nephews, one niece and their family members. Visitation will be held in Broken Bow at 6:30 pm Friday, Feb. 22 at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow and a graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, Feb. 23 at Dakota City Cemetery, near Parkston, South Dakota. Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements.
