William Webb, age 59 of Dunning, NE passed away at home surrounded by family and friends on March 25, 2013 after a recent battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease.
William (Bill) Lowell Webb was born in Sioux City, Iowa on January 30, 1954 to Gerald and Delores Webb. He graduated from Westwood Community High School, Sloan, IA in 1972. He later attended Open Bible College in Des Moines, Iowa where he met his future bride Vickie Jean Heller.
The couple married on October 20, 1973 in Dunning, Nebraska and made their home on the family ranch between Dunning and Halsey. Through the years Bill’s occupations included pastoring, ranching, trucking, and countless little odd jobs that he enjoyed doing for people.
Bill and Vickie raised three daughters Jennifer, Kelly, and Lisa. Bill always tried to take the family on summer vacations and there were many cherished memories made during these trips. He was an avid sports fan and anyone who had an opportunity to sit with him through any type of sporting event got an experience they probably wouldn’t soon forget. Bill also enjoyed ranching and spending time in the Sandhills living and working alongside his special in-laws, Miller and the late Helen Heller.
Bill had a special place in his heart for kids. He loved his grandkids and enjoyed wrestling with them, attending their events, watching them play together, and hearing stories about their daily adventures.
Bill is survived by wife Vickie Webb of Dunning; daughter Jennifer (Mike) Schmidt, grandchildren Brant, Bryce, and Rylee of Anselmo; daughter Kelly (Chad) Duryea, grandchildren Dawson, Dalton, and Dane of Merna; daughter Lisa (Trent) Russell, grandchildren Jayden and Kenzie of Merna; sister Nancy (Ron) Carter, Gardnerville, NV; sister Donita (Brian) Tascerella, Burnsville, MN. He is preceded in death by; father, Gerald Webb; mother, Deloras Webb; mother-in-law, Helen Heller.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 28, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Open Bible Church in Dunning with Pastor Ralph McKay officiating. Burial will be in the Dunning Cemetery with Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Wednesday 12:00 Noon until 8 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow and Thursday morning 11:30 AM until service time at the church.
