Devoted Wife and Mother
Norma Lee Hagadorn former long time Broken Bow resident died in Lincoln, NE, April 28th after a lengthy illness.
Norma Lee was born July 8, 1925, in Taylor, Nebraska to Ernest and Della (Parker) Fox. She attended Taylor Public Schools and was active in the arts.
On May 28, 1942, she wed Jess Hagadorn. This union was blessed with two daughters. While Jess served his country in W.W. II, Norma Lee resided in Hastings with her parents. Upon her husband’s discharge, the couple moved to Broken Bow where she, her husband, and two daughters made their home. During the years that followed, she was a wife and mother and later an employee of Safeway, Inc. She remained an employee until Safeway closed its store in Broken Bow.
She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and was a life long member of the First Baptist Church.
Norma Lee is survived by her two daughters: Sandra Sue Powers and her husband Robert of North Platte, and Vikki Janeal Dickinson and husband Ed Brannen of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Babette Manske of Louisville, Tristi Carroll of Warsaw, MO, Justin Travers Dickinson of Lincoln, Brandon Powers of Manhatten, NY, and Zachary Powers of North Platte; 15 great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother, Larry (Dell) Fox of Columbus; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Norma Lee was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Esbum Avery Fox; and 3 great-grand children.
Graveside memorial services will be April 30, 2013, at 2:00 at the Broken Bow Cemetery with Pastor Jurdan Counts officiating. Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Govier Bros. Mortuary on Tuesday prior to the service.
