Benjamin A. Bohy, age 82, passed away on May 5, 2013 in Lincoln, NE. Memorial services will be held on Friday May 10th, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow with Rev. David Hansen officiating. A register book may be signed at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow. Memorials are suggested to the “Little Feet Big Dreams” Campaign c/o Broken Bow Public School Foundation, 323 North 7th Ave. Broken Bow, Nebraska 68822 Benjamin A. Bohy, 82, was a loving husband, great father, and wonder grandfather. He was born on November 2, 1930 in Ord, Nebraska, to Albert Bohy and Erma Nauemburg. He lived in Ord and Sargent and the family moved to Oregon for three years returning to Burwell where Ben attended school and graduated from Burwell High School. He served in the United States Army for two years and upon returning he was employed by the State of Nebraska Department of Roads for 42 years, retiring in 1995. On June 3rd, 1956, Ben was united in marriage to Elaine Bangert and moved to Broken Bow, Nebraska. Ben and Elaine had three children, Kim, Tami, and Brad. Ben enjoyed all his children’s school activities and attended all of their athletic events. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling and camping and took great pride in his garden, lawn, and flowers. He had a great love for birds and enjoyed building birdhouses. Ben also enjoyed his four grandchildren, Samantha, Nathan, Geoffrey, and Courtney. Memories are so important; it was always great to hear the grandchildren say “Grandpa can fix it.” Ben is survived by his wife Elaine, his three children, Kim ,Tami and Brad, four grandchildren, Samantha and Nathan of Arizona, Geoffrey and Courtney of California, his brother, Wayne Bohy and wife Carol of Lincoln, nieces, nephews, and special cousins Martha, Margaret, and Mary, and many special friends, including his three beloved dogs Spencer Tracey, Sydney Poitier, and Booker T.
