Lucille was born on September 8, 1918, to Gustav and Myrtle McNair Sorensen at the family farm south of Mason City, Nebraska. Three sisters and two brothers completed the family. All are deceased.
Lucille attended Tufford Rural School, Mason City High School and Kearney State Teacher’s College. She taught five years in rural schools in Nebraska.
On April 24, 1939 she was united in marriage to Robert Miche. They lived and farmed the Miche place for 47 years until Robert’s passing on November 12, 1986.
Two daughters were born to this happy couple, Karolyn and Marilyn.
Left alone after Robert’s passing, Lucille moved to Hazard, Nebraska in 1987, where she spent 12 happy years.
On July 7, 1998, daughter Karolyn was taken in a tragic accident.
In 1999, Lucille moved to Apartment 109 at Regency in Kearney and resided there for 2 ½ years.
Lucille was busy making quilts, decorating and painting everything from barns to pictures and whatever got in the way of her paint brush.
She enjoyed many friends, as well as bowling, biking, walking and swimming side kicks.
Another move came in December 2001 when she moved to the farm home, owned by Marilyn and Duane Miller. Here again, she was home near family and the great out of doors, a happy time.
Leaving behind Lucille are daughter Marilyn and husband Duane Miller, of Ansley, grand children Pamela Hickenbottom, Adam Miller and wife Lea, Loraine Miller, Ann and David Hunt, and great-grandchildren Grace Miller, Brodie Bednarz, Logan Hunt and step great-grandchildren, Zach, Jake and Will Ondrak and Andrew and Noah Hunt, several nieces and nephews, friends and “sidekicks”.
