Broken Bow, NE- LeVern Cherry, age 80 of Broken Bow, formerly of North Platte, died Tuesday May 14, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Broken Bow.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow with Rev. Mel Shepherd officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 PM, in the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, with military honors.
Memorials are suggested to the Golden Living Center in Broken Bow.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2013, 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow.
LeVern Edward Cherry was born on October 24, 1932, south of Mason City, NE to Frank and Anna (Supanchick) Cherry. He was married to Norma Shipley on January 9, 1953, at Norton, KS.
LeVern is survived by his wife; Norma Cherry of Kearney, daughter; Diana Hopkins of Frisco, TX, sons; Mike Cherry of San Antonio, TX, Randy Cherry of Sargent, NE, Steve Cherry of Kearney, NE, and Pat Cherry of McCook, NE. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and two sisters; Deloris Smith of Chadron, and Helen Young of Ansley.
