Broken Bow, NE- Jacqueline Douglass, age 85 died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10:00 AM in Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow, with Jerry Ricketts officiating. Burial will be in the Brewster Cemetery at Brewster, NE. Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Friday, 9 AM to 8 PM with the family greeting friends 7 PM to 8 PM. Memorials may be given to the Brewster American Legion Auxiliary, Post # 323.
Jacqueline was born on July 4, 1927 at Niobrara, Nebraska to George and Johnanna L. (Grunke) Hofer. At the age of 4, Jacqueline was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kilpatrick, who opened their hearts and home to this little girl and loved her as their own. On August 29, 1945, Jacqueline was united in marriage to Jerold Douglass at Broken Bow. Jacqueline and Jerold made their home on the ranch in the Sandhills. In 1980, they retired from ranching and moved to Merna, Nebraska. In September of 2010, Jacqueline moved to Heritage Hall Nursing Home. Mr. Douglass died on July 16, 2011. Jacqueline continued to make her home at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow.
Jacqueline is survived by her son; Larry (Donna) Douglass of Brewster, daughter; Linda (Carol) Conard of Burwell, and a daughter in law; Bridget Douglass, of Columbus, NE, six grandchildren and13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both biological and Adopted, her husband Jerold, her son Steven, and a grandson Clinton.
