Broken Bow, NE- Burnard M. Whitney, age 99 of Broken Bow, died Friday June 14, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Broken Bow.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow, with Pastor Larry DeMoss officiating. Burial will be in the Custer Center Cemetery with Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 19, 2013, 8 AM to 8 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary with the family greeting friends 6 PM to 8 PM. Memorials have been established to the Dulos Ministries in Minneapolis, MN.
Burnard was born on May 16, 1914 west of Broken Bow to H.P. and Ollie (Street) Whitney. Burnard graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1931.
He was married to Lucile Daily on February 11, 1939 at Loup City, NE.
Mrs. Whitney died on February 1, 2013.
Burnard is survived by his son John (Beth) of Broken Bow, daughter in law Darlene Whitney of Broken Bow, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, and a sister Ruth McCauley of Grand Island.
Burnard was preceded in death by his parents, His wife, and a son Clifford.
