Evelyn E. Cecil Graveside funeral services for Evelyn E. Cecil age 89 of Arcadia, NE. will be held Saturday August 3, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at the Arcadia Cemetery in Arcadia, NE. with Rev. Joel Plisek officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Arcadia Fire and Rescue. There will be no visitation. Evelyn Elaine Cecil, 89, of Arcadia, passed away August 1, 2013, at her home. Evelyn was born on May 30, 1924, to James Fredrick Wilson and Maudia Lewellyn Spickelmier Wilson. She grew up on the family farm near Culbertson, NE and graduated from Hayes Center High School in 1942. On May 24, 1944, Evelyn married Howard William Cecil, and to this union a daughter, Deanna, was born. After high school, Evelyn taught school in a rural district for three years. She was a devoted and hard working farm wife. Evelyn enjoyed working in her garden and sharing her produce with her friends. She also enjoyed reading and was an avid Husker fan. She is survived by her daughter, Deanna(Jim) Schwartz of North Platte, NE; two grandchildren, Jennifer(Justin) Tallmon of Glenwood, IA; Justin(Stacy) Schwartz of Kearney, NE; five great grandsons, Jon and Jace Tallmon, Kamden, Ashden, and Hayden Schwartz; her sister, Fredora (Don) Harrison of Culbertson, NE; and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Howard of 59 years, her parents, Fred and Maudia, a sister, Ruby Wilson, and a brother and sister-in-law, Vaughn and Marlene Wilson.
