Paul was born to Raymond and Lucille (Campbell) Page on July 14, 1937. He grew up in Central City, graduated from high school there, met his wife of 55 years there, and began their family there. Ronda was born in Grand Island, Joyce in Central City, and after they moved to Broken Bow, Paula was born. They moved because Paul’s job with Hansen’s Appliance as their appliance repair tech which later became Staab’s Appliance and he continued working for Bob. During this time, he was a Broken Bow volunteer fireman answering “the call” for fires and emergencies without hesitation. Many times meaning a trip to hospitals further east with his “shotgun” buddies…Ivan, Dick, Corky, Tom, and many others. The stories they reminisced about would fill a book. One thing for sure, there isn’t a family in the area he didn’t know about or take care of at some point in his life. When Frank Klapal retired as Broken Bow’s Fire Chief, Paul was selected for the position and thus began his seventeen year “heading up” the department he and others were/are so proud to serve their fine city. As the couple’s entertainment, they traveled to Colorado and were sight-seeing the mountains with their daughter and her husband when the tragic accident took his wife’s life and a few weeks later, the injuries he sustained ended his life at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Colorado on Friday August 16, 2013. He and his wife attended the Assembly of God Church. He was always a supporter of youth activities and manned the ambulance at sporting events, races and mini-sprints, demolition derbies. He belonged to the Elk’s and Jaycee’s. Survivors are daughters, Ronda and husband Frank Rodriquez of Thornton, CO., Joyce Dangler and Paula Page both of Broken Bow. He also leaves to mourn his grandchildren, Amber, Christina and friend Dusty, Aaron and wife Jennifer, Matt, Adam and friend Timaree, Andy and friend Liz, Ryan and wife Trina, and Kaleigh. Plus, eight great-grandchildren who were close to his heart along with many nieces and nephews. Many special friends who’ll miss him and his wife. He was preceded in death by his wife Charlene, his parents, and a great grandson and many others who have gone before him.
