Michael L. Buckles

Michael L. (Mike) Buckles, age 59, of Broken Bow, Nebraska died Saturday September 21, 2013 at his home in Broken Bow due to cancer. Michael L. Buckles was born December 4, 1953 in Martin, South Dakota to A. Robert and Mary Frances (Swanson) Buckles. He attended school in Merriman, Ne. and also Martin South Dakota. He attended college receiving a Masters Degree. Mike was a life long educator, primarily teaching social studies and coaching. Mike was united in marriage to Kim Risse. They have two sons Jason Buckles of Merriman, Ne., and Tigh Buckles of Lincoln, Ne. Mike is also survived by a brother Bob Buckles of Ainsworth, Ne. and a niece and nephew. Mike was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 24th at 10 a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Broken Bow with Father Jim Hunt officiating. A wake service will be held Monday September 23rd at 7 p.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Broken Bow. Burial will be held Wednesday September 25th at 2 p.m. central time, 1 p.m. mountain time at the Martin Cemetery in Martin South Dakota with Father Bryan Sorensen officiating. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
