Oconto, NE- Stanley Spellman, age 74 of Oconto, died Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Lexington Regional Hospital in Lexington.
Private family services will be held. Visitation will be held on Wednesday 12:00 Noon to 8 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to the family.
Stanley Edward Spellman was born on September 25, 1939 at Wood River, Nebraska to William and Marcella (Oswald) Spellman. Stanley graduated from High School at Albin, Wyoming. He was married to Carol Brown. Stanley and Carol were married over 50 years. Through the years Stanley worked for the railroad, Oconto Well Service, and has farmed since 1960, near Oconto.
Stanley was a member of the Oconto Fire Department and the Oconto Rescue Unit. Stanley loved his family, and tried to attend all of his grandchildren’s activities. He was a very proud granddad.
Stanley is survived by his wife Carol of Oconto, daughter Cindy (Dale) Edgington-Yanken of Callaway, son James (Gina) Spellman of North Platte, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, two brothers Virgil Spellman of Kearney, Richard (Judy) Spellman of Kearney, his mother Marcella Spellman of Kearney, and a very special friend and family, Irene De la torre and family.
He was preceded death in by his father, son in law Robert Edgington, a brother Carl Spellman, and a sister Marvel Spellman.
