Mildred Irene Cook, age 98, of Broken Bow, Nebraska died Wed. March 26, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Broken Bow.
Mildred was born February 21, 1916 in York County, Nebraska to Christian D. and Ida Mae (Schneller) Hanneman. Mildred grew up in the Ansley area. She graduated from Ansley High School in 1932. On March 24, 1937 Mildred married Arthur W. Cook . They farmed together in Custer County. They retired in 1977 to Broken Bow. Arthur died in 1982. Mildred was a resident of Golden Living Center in Broken Bow at time of her death. Mildred loved her Evangelical Free Church family. She was an excellent seamstress sewing for her family and community. She also and enjoyed gardening.
Funeral services will be Monday March 31st at 2 p.m. in the Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Pastor Scott Harvey officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday March 30th 1p.m. to 6 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary.
Mildred is survived by Karen Davis of Broomfield, Co., Nancy Harris of McCloud, Ok., Donald Royle of Kearney, Ne., Rita Ross of Newark, Delaware, Lori Ferguson and husband Jerry of Holdrege, Ne., and several other neices and nephews.
