Broken Bow, NE – Lloyd Hammond, age 73 of Broken Bow died Wednesday April 2, 2014, at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow. Funeral services will be held on Sunday April 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow with Hospice Chaplain Peggy Michael-Rush officiating. Burial will be in the Merna Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials to be established for Asera Care Hospice or the Heritage Hall Nursing Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday April 5, 2014, 1 PM to 8 PM with the family greeting friends 6 PM to 8 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary. Lloyd was born on April 14, 1940 to Jesse and Mary (Fox) Hammond near Loup City, NE. He was married to Dorothy Gulden. Lloyd is survived by his wife Dorothy Hammond of Broken Bow, his daughters; Debbie (Larry) Jacobs of Englewood, CO, and Kristie (Van) Castleman of Medford, OR, 2 grandchildren, one sister Elaine (Delson) Runyan of Mason City, NE, his brothers; Wayne (Ladene) Hammond, Paul (Patty) Hammond, both of Broken Bow, and Jim (Bev) Hammond of Grand Island. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Betty Cash, and one granddaughter Hilary West.
