Esther Jean Pracht was born July 7, 1928, to George & Agnes Pirnie of Weissert, Nebraska. Esther passed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the age of 85.
Esther accepted Christ as her personal Savior as a young adult. Esther enjoyed being involved with mission groups in her church and home. She honored the Lord by sharing Christ’s love and teaching her children the love of Christ throughout her life.
Esther was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Esther was a partner in life not only in their marriage but in their many different business ventures together. She enjoyed going out for coffee with her dear friends and it was always special when her grandchildren got to go along. Esther enjoyed being outside, gardening, visiting with her neighbors, and listening to the birds sing.
Esther was raised on the family farm of her parents, George and Agnes Pirnie near Weissert, Nebraska. She attended school with her brothers and sisters at East Weissert School. She also attended at the 183 District and Dry Valley High School of Sargent, Nebraska, while she lived with her sister Ruth Glover’s family.
Esther met the love of her life, Loyd Pracht. Esther & Loyd had been corresponding by letters in the mail for some time. Esther had family living in Idaho. In 1954 while Loyd was in Colorado Springs, Colorado attending army basic training, Esther stopped by to see him on her way to visit family.
On April 1, 1954 in the Garden of Gods, Loyd proposed to Esther. Loyd & Esther were then married on April 27, 1954.
Esther is survived by her four daughters and families: Twila Bradford, Pharr, TX; Brenda Penny, Broken Bow, NE; Bonnie & Steve Woolsey, Gering, NE; Connie & Paul Johnson, Mason City, NE. Loyd & Esther enjoyed their 13 wonderful grandchildren and 6 precious great grandchildren. God blessed the family with an earthly angel, that became an adopted family member, Brenda Brandt.
Esther leaves behind her deeply loved family members: 3 sisters & 1 brother, Beulah Troy, Delbert Pirnie, Dorothy Mulder all of Nampa, Idaho, and Naomi Bramer of Amherst, Nebraska
Esther was preceded in death by her loving husband Loyd Pracht on April 10th 2014, her parents, George & Agnes (Roy) Pirnie, two infant sisters Nina & Darlene Pirnie, Ruth Glover, Joe Pirnie, Ralph Pirnie, Le Roy Pirnie, and her two sons-in-law Marvin Penny & Daniel Bradford.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 6, 2014 at 10:30am at the Berean Church located at 814 South 7th Ave. Broken Bow, NE. Pastor Larry DeMoss is officiating with burial services at the Broken Bow Cemetery; Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 5, 2014, 8 AM to 8 PM with the family greeting friends 6 PM to 8 PM.
