Lillian Kingston age 90 of Kearney formerly of Arcadia died Sunday August 31st 2014 at St. John’s Care Home in Kearney.
Funeral services will be held Friday September 5th at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church in Arcadia with Pastor Jeff Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Lee Park Cemetery West of Arcadia. Visitation will be Thursday Sept 4th 1 p.m. to 8 pm. at the United Methodist Church in Arcadia. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Lillian Kingston was born March 3, 1924 to Forest and Anna (Nehls) Nelson, south of Arcadia, Ne. She started Schooling at Rosebud School south of Comstock, Ne. She helped her folks on the farm and was in 4-H in the area.
On November 30, 1942 Lillian married Orin Kingston at the Methodist Parsonage in Kearney, Ne. The farmed in the Arcadia area, and In 1947 they purchased their farm at Lee’s Park, west of Arcadia, where they lived for 57 years. To this union two children were born, Linda Ann and Duane Lee.
Lillian was a member of the Arcadia United Methodist Church, a Sunday school teacher and youth fellowship leader for over forty years, served as administrative Board Secretary twenty five years. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church and former member of the Challenger Circle. In 1950, she accepted the Lord into her life.
Her love was the Lord, family and friends, enjoying her many flower gardens.
Lillian is survived by a daughter Linda Ann Markussen of Lincoln, and a son Duane Lee Kingston of Amherst, Ne. six grandchildren, 1 step grandson, 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Orin, 1 sister Virgie, 1 brother Paul, and a grandson Tyce.
