Broken Bow, NE- DeLilah Rose Zimmerman age 81 of Broken Bow, died Saturday November 1, 2014, at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Evangelical Free Church in Broken Bow with Pastor David Hansen Officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Monday, 8 AM to 3 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary and family present from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Evangelical Free Church in Broken Bow. DeLilah Rose Zimmerman was born on May 25, 1933, five miles north of Brewster, NE in a sod house to Harley and Laura (Carruth) Saner. At a young age she moved with her family to the Crawford and Hemingford area until she was 9 years old. The family moved to Dunning, NE. During the move, brother Don, younger sister Doris and DeLilah rode #44 passenger train to Dunning because the family car was too packed to carry all the kids. The family resided on the Saner Ranch 8 miles north of Dunning. DeLilah attended grade school at Dist. #29 West Union, and graduated from high school in Dunning in 1951. On July 29, 1951 she was married to Dale Zimmerman in Dunning. Through the years DeLilah and Dale resided at the Zimmerman Ranch in Anselmo, a brief time in Sterling, CO, a farm near Merna, a farm at Milburn, and in 1963 they moved to the Dunning Ranch. DeLilah and Dale later retired to Broken Bow in 1995. DeLilah enjoyed neighbor clubs, dancing, square dancing, and gambling at the casinos. Dale and she traveled to numerous cities to square dance. They also enjoyed traveling. DeLilah also did lots of baking, sewing, and canning for her children. Winning several open class competitions at the Blaine County Fair. DeLilah is survived by her children; BeLinda (Tim) Tibbs of Ravenna, MaLinda “Sue” (Ken) Johnston of Brewster, Dail Anne Helzer (Rickie) of Cairo, Ne., Leon (Debbie) Zimmerman of Broken Bow, and Lynn Zimmerman of Anselmo, 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, three brothers Ben (Vivian) Saner of York, Don (Shirley) Saner of Dunning, Jim (Mary) Saner of Idaho, and sister Doris (Tom) Sierks of Dunning. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, twin grandchildren Tonya and Shelly Helzer, her parents, sisters Hazel Duryea, and Lorraine Glause.
