Teddie Trotter

April 24, 1941 — November 2, 2014

Teddie Trotter 73, died November 2, 2014 at home in Broken Bow with his family by his side. He was born April 24, 1941 at Kimball, Nebraska to Emery Trotter and Ina (Beards) Trotter. On August 17, 1963 he married Laverna Shears in Armour South Dakota. To this union three sons were born Travis, Max and Damon. They made their home in Broken Bow Nebraska, later moving to his Post Master job in Merriman Nebraska and his Post Master job in Big Springs Nebraska and back to Broken Bow. Ted never knew a stranger and always struck up a conversation with anyone as well as having a smile and making people feel welcome. He liked being a salesman and retired as a Post Master. He enjoyed every job he had and made sure it was done right. He also enjoyed boating and fishing. In 1959 he graduated from Broken Bow High School and joined the U.S. Navy in 1959 being honorable discharged in 1963. The survivors are his wife Laverna of 51 years, stepmother Connie Trotter, sons Travis Trotter of Broken Bow, Max (Marleena) Trotter of Iowa, Damon (April) Trotter of Broken Bow, sister Lois (Dan) Carpenter of Kearney, half brother Dean Trotter and half sister Roxie of Sequim Washington. Grandchildren Ross, Alexa, Darrion, Cassie, Ina, Emily, Natalie, Tasia, Elijah and two great grandchildren Kyle and Dax. Sister-in-laws Marion (Jon) Holmes, Nellie Owen, Tammy Shears, two brother-in-laws Jerry (Natalie) Shears, Claude Shears and many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday November 6, 2014 at 10:0 AM at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bo w with Bob Woodward officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A register book may be signed at Govier Bros. Mortuary on Wednesday 8 AM to 8 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Asera Care Hospice.
