Michael Flynn, age 57, of Blue Hill, Nebraska died Thursday December 11th peacefully at his home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 16th at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow with Rev. Todd Kargas officiating.
Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery wiith Govier Brothers Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Monday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary.
Michael was born on September 24, 1957 at Fort Belvoir, Alexandria, Virginia to Elliott L. (Tex) Flynn and Bonnie B. (Secor) Shaul. He spent his early years sharing time with his mother in Wood Lake, Ne. and his father in Mount Hope, Wisconsin. Later he settled in Broken Bow and married Lisa (Clark) on May 30, 1981. To this union two children were born Lana Jo and Elliott Jiles (E. J.) In 2001, the Flynn family became complete with guardianship of another daughter Sadie Wooters. Mike enjoyed participating in rodeos with his father and brothers. He also enjoyed racing stock cars and pickup pulls with family and friends. Mike drove a truck for most of his adult life and made some of the best friends on the road.
Michael Flynn is survived by his mother Bonnie B. Shaul and Allen Shaul of Blue Hill, his father Elliott L. (Tex) Flynn and JoAnn Flynn of Mondovi, Wisconsin, his wife Lisa Flynn of Blue Hill, two daughters Lana (Jeff) Burnett of Broken Bow, Sadie Wooters of Blue Hill, Ne., a son Elliott (E.J.) (Allison Nehls) Flynn of Broken Bow, Nebraska. 2 brothers Casey (Tammy) Flynn of Broken Bow and Patrick Flynn of Blue Hill, Ne. 2 sisters Misty (Chris) Anderson of Hastings, Ne. and Shannon La Bounty of Ca., two step brothers Douglas Gade of Texas, and Jim (Gidget) Gade of Wisconsin, two step sisters Jill (Suba) Moorthy of Minnesota, and Dawn Gade-McCauley of Wisconsin. Mother-in-law Audrey Clark of Broken Bow, brothers and sisters in law Monte (Carla) Clark, Denise (Leonard) Daake, Callie Martin, Lori (Jim) Tacha, and Mick (Sheila) Clark. Many neices, nephews, and greats.
Michael was preceded in death by a grandmother Bernice Dailey and grandfather Elmer Edward Secor, Father in law Alton Clark, a brother in law Marty Clark.
He will be deeply missed by many.
