Fern W. Schroeder Hall was born January 16, 1919 at Bartlett, Iowa to John Henry and Alta M. (Gibson) Schroeder. She departed this life to be with her Savior on January 30, 2015 at the Callaway Good Life Center. She was one of twelve children. At the age of seven her family moved to Nebraska. They lived near Broken Bow, Ansley, Dunning and Arnold. Fern attended Arnold High School, where she graduated in 1936. She was baptized in 'Christ' as a young woman and her faith continued to grow until she departed this life. In her early teens at the Climax Sunday School she met Cameron Hall who stole her heart. On April 3, 1937 Cameron and Fem were married in Aurora, NE. This union was blessed by eight children. Some of Fern's happiest years were spent at the sod house where they lived until 1949 when they moved back to the ranch into the house they built themselves. They lived there until 1986 when they moved into Arnold. Fem had many talents, besides being a wife and mother, she taught school, prepared income taxes, took the census and was an election official.
