RICHARD E. BARTRAM, 68 | 1946-2015 (Loving Husband, Wonderful Father & Outdoor Enthusiast) Rich E. Bartram, age 68, of Broken Bow, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at home with family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be at 2 PM Saturday, April 11th at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Pastor Peggy Michael Rush officiating. Honorary pallbearers during service; Dave Green, Dan Hawke, Don Headrick, Lowell Baillie, Ken “Rudy” Handley, and Keith Moninger. Family will be greeting friends Friday, April 10th from 5 PM until 6:30 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow. Rich E. Bartram was born October 20, 1946 in Sabetha, KS to Elmer and Georgia DeWaine (Holmes) Bartram. He attended all schooling in Beatrice, NE. From a young age he enjoyed working with his father in the meat department at Grant Street Grocery in Beatrice, NE. Rich was united into marriage to Marta Strickler on June 9th, 1984 in Summerfield, KS. The two resided in Beatrice and York where Rich worked at Price Chopper, before moving to Broken Bow in 1986 when a better opportunity presented itself. In Broken Bow, Rich found his calling and worked for the Grocery Kart as a meat market manager for 27 years before retiring last July. He greatly enjoyed serving his customers. He could be best known to many as "Papa Rich". Rich was an avid bow hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors. His hobbies also included taxidermy and spending time with family and friends. Rich is survived by his loving wife, Marta. Son, Tony Bartram (Barb) of Beatrice, NE. Daughter, Heather Peck (Joel) of Omaha, NE. Daughter, Caitlin Bartram of Omaha, NE. Son, Colter Bartram of Broken Bow, NE. Six grandchildren, Kelsea, Kile, Ethan, Aidan, Arabella, and Angelo. Sister, Eleanor Thompson of Glenfield, KS. Aunts and uncle, Maxine Snyder of Superior, NE and Alice and George Hervey of Sabetha, KS. As well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is proceeded in death by, parents, Elmer and DeWaine Bartram. In-laws, Hugh and Wanna Strickler. Sister, Beverly Graham. Son, Bennett (Benny) Lee Bartram. As well as, two nieces and one nephew. Memorials may be made to The American Lung Association Nebraska or AseraCare Hospice.
