Douglas, WY- Carolyn Darlene McIntosh age 73 of Douglas, WY formerly of Central City, died Friday July 3, 2015 at the Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary in Broken Bow with Rev. Doug Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 8, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary with family greeting friend 5 PM to 7 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary.
Carolyn Darlene McIntosh was born on November 14, 1941 at Broken Bow, NE to Leonard and Alice (Louder) Braisser. She graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1958. While in high school she worked at the café with her best friend Peggy Plock. If it was a nice day she and Peggy were known to skip school and go visit her sister Elaine at Anselmo.
Carolyn was married to Wendell McIntosh in 1959. They made their home on the Big Creek Land and Cattle ranch near Mullen, NE. In 1971 they moved to the Taylor Ranch near Grand Island. Carolyn and Wendell divorced in 1976. Carolyn lived at various locations through the years. She later moved to Merrick Manor assisted living in Central City, where she lived until moving to Douglas Care Center in Douglas, WY in 2009.
Carolyn enjoyed doing crafts, playing bingo and going out to eat at the local eateries for pie.
She is survived by her sons; Gene & Galen (partner) of Grand Island, and Dallas McIntosh of Douglas, WY, daughters; Sherry (Rod) Swanson of Grand Island, Teresa (Shayne) Lawrence of Douglas, WY, and Elaine (Justin) Rollins of Manderson, WY, 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a set of twin great grandchildren on the way. She is also survived by three sisters; Lola Jean Coleman of Scottsbluff, NE, Joann Milligan of North Platte, and Elaine Olson of Anselmo, and numerous other family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Rosetta Glover and LaVonne Dimmitt and her ex-husband Wendell.
