Kenneth Joe Eacker, 86 formerly of Broken Bow died Friday, July 10th, 2015, at Prairie View Gardens, Kearney, NE. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 14th at Govier Bros. in Broken Bow, NE, with the Rev. Ken Hutson officiating. Burial will be in Broken Bow Cemetery, with military honors.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. To 8 p.m., Monday, July 13th at Govier Bros, with family greeting friends from 5 p.m. To 6 p.m.
Kenny was born December 12th, 1928, in Broken Bow, NE to John and Freida Eacker. Kenny was the second youngest of 14 children. Kenny graduated high school from Broken Bow, NE in 1948, attended Kearney State College where he was a running-back for their football team. He later joined the Air Force, and was a tail-gunner in the Korean War. Kenny and Vi were married on June 5th,1955 in Broken Bow, NE where they made their home and raised their four children. Kenny was employed at B-D for over 20 years. After retirement, he enjoyed tinkering in the garage, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Viola (Winchester) Eacker, son, Kent Eacker and great grandson, Michael Ritter, as well as his parents and many siblings.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Lynn Eacker of Sumner, NE, two daughters and sons-in-laws, Kathy and Rollie Amsberry of Mason City, NE and Karen and Todd Schipporeit of Milburn, NE; two brothers, George Eacker of Broken Bow and Don Eacker of Lincoln, NE., 14 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
