Oconto, NE- Gary Bomberger, age 67 of Oconto died Thursday July 16, 2015 at the Callaway District Hospital in Callaway.
Funeral services will be held on Monday July 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Oconto Community Building in Oconto, NE with Reverend Doug Jones officiating and Military Honors. Inurnment will be held on Tuesday July 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Oconto Cemetery. Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation with the family receiving friends will be held on Sunday evening 5 PM to 7 PM at the Oconto Community Building. Memorials are suggested to the Oconto EMS.
Gary R. Bomberger was born on January 31, 1948 to Jake and Berniece (Branstiter) Bomberger. He grew up in the Oconto area until he joined the US Navy shortly after graduating from Oconto High School in 1966. During his Navy career he met and married Linda McKenzie. Two children were born to this union; Jake and Ben. Gary loved working on aircraft and being stationed all over the world. After 22 successful years in the Navy, Gary retired and moved back to his home town of Oconto in 1994.
HE LOVED TO FISH. Gary loved the outdoors, barbequing and most of all his family.
Gary is survived by his wife Linda of Oconto, a daughter from a previous marriage, Pamela, of Kansas, sons Jake (Molly) Bomberger and Ben (Jayme) Bomberger both of Kearney, and grandchildren Kaleb, Mckenna, Rylie and Jacy. He is also survived by his brother Glen (Karen) Bomberger of Oconto.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
