Alfred Alvaro Heath 7/2/1922 – 09/07/2015 Alfred Heath age 93 of Broken Bow died Monday September 7, 2015 at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Broken Bow. Alfred Alvaro Heath was born in Colome, South Dakota on July 2, 1922 to Burton and Rebecca (Delany) Heath. In 1933 he moved to Berwyn, NE with his parents and attended school in the Berwyn area to graduate from Berwyn in 1941. For the next 5 years he worked for several farmers and most notably for the Department of Defense contractors in the Hastings area building ammunition bunkers during World War 2. On October 6, 1946 he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Kelly in Missouri Valley, Iowa. They lived on various farms in Custer County enjoying farming, raising cattle, hogs, and dairy cattle until 1978 when they moved to Broken Bow. At that time Alfred worked at Wheelers until 1988 when he retired. Alfred was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. His many hobbies included wood working, fishing, playing cards and billiards. He is preceeded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Jane, daughter Kathy Lynn, brothers Clinton and Wiley, and sisters Lottie, Donna, Della, and Mable. Left to cherish his memory are sons Michael (Sharon) Heath of York , NE, and Kelly (Gina) Heath of Lincoln, NE, grandchildren Nicole(Aaron) Mroczek, Omaha, NE, Bryan (Cassandra) Heath, Crete, NE, Zach (Crystal) Heath, Bennington, NE, and Kayla Childress and special friend Connor Farrell, Omaha ,NE; great-grandchildren Cora and Calvin Mroczek, Omaha, NE, Zoe and Jack Heath, Bennington, NE, and future Baby Girl Heath, Crete, NE; one sister Elda Ward of Broken Bow, NE, many nieces and nephews and special friend Gertrude Mogensen of Broken Bow, NE. Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow with Reverend Glen Emert officiating. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery with Govier Bros. Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 8 AM to 8 PM at Govier Bros. Mortuary with the family greeting friends 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Prairie Pioneer Center in Broken Bow.
